Daniel Taub- A great diplomat and peace negotiator

Daniel Taub role as the ambassador of the state of Israel to the United Kingdom is definitely his greatest achievement. Appointment to such a high office does not come easy. It is a position where one must have first demonstrated willingness and capability to perform.

Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi Moves Over To Chairman Of Bradesco

Throughout the history of Bradesco, one of the largest banks in Brazil, few people have been as influential on the overall philosophy and the day-to-day operations as Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi. As the 67 year old banker approaches the end of his reign as CEO, his transition to the role of chairman of the board marks the end of a prosperous era. Yet it is likely that the bank will continue, largely uninterrupted, on the course that Trabuco Cappi has set for it.

From teller to the tippy top

Luiz Carlos Trabuco first came to work for Bradesco in 1967. Fresh out of high school, the 18 year old needed a summer job to begin saving money for college. With big dreams but few clear goals, Trabuco Cappi was thrilled to be hired on by one of the major banks in his hometown of Marilia, Sao Paulo.

Over the next ten years, the ambitious young banker would prove himself a capable employee and a quick learner. He also demonstrated a natural affinity for management, a skill that earned him the attention of his superiors and a string on steady promotions. Throughout the 1970s, he was able to put himself through night school at one of the country’s most prestigious universities. By the end of the 1970s, he had attained both a bachelor’s degree in business administration as well as a master’s degree in social psychology. And he had done all this while still working up to 60 hours per week in a long line of management positions.

By 1984, Trabuco Cappi had one of the most impressive resumes of any non-executive in the firm. It was in that year that he was tapped for his first executive role, heading up the firm’s marketing and public relations department.

There, he was able to put his vast knowledge of both psychology and the global banking industry to solid use. He quickly began to overhaul the way in which the PR department operated. Trabuco Cappi quickly moved to establish solid relationships with local media personalities in all of the markets in which Bradesco operated. This proved fruitful. By the end of the 1980s, Bradesco was acquiring new customers at rates it had never before experienced and its marketing efforts were largely considered to be a success.

Then, in 1992, he was tapped to head up the company’s financial planning division. The unit had been struggling to turn a profit ever since its inception in the late 1980s. Trabuco Cappi began making immediately making changes to the division’s model of operations, implementing a new strategy that was closer to what the successful banks of North America were doing at the time.

Trabuco Cappi decided to create a tiered banking model, with Bradesco’s best customers getting the highest level of service. Prior to his running the division, Bradesco had a one-size-fits-all model of banking, with every customer receiving similar levels of service, no matter their importance to the company.

But Trabuco Cappi created a product known as Bradesco Prime. His idea was to go after the high-net-worth-client market with direct and aggressive marketing and a tailored service that would keep the most lucrative customers coming back. Bradesco Prime allowed the most important clients of the bank 24/7 access to personal bankers. It also included certain perks that included such things as complimentary stays at five-star hotels and first-class airfare.

The strategy of specifically targeting high-net-worth clients proved to be enormously successful. Bradesco soon had the market all but cornered, and the bank was flooded with massive amounts of new capital.

As Trabuco Cappi takes over the board of directors, such successes as these are all but certain to continue.

The Power Of Now Inspires Dr. Avi Weisfogel

Dr. Avi Weisfogel has quite an interesting routine to his day, much of which consists of him studying the symptoms of sleep apnea and looking at the effects various sleep treatments have fighting it. But he also shared with Ideamensch about what his usual day looks like, and part of his mornings are getting mentally prepared with his life coach, and he also said one book he loves is “The Power Of Now.” This book offers a lot of insights on what one’s purpose in life should be, and Dr. Weisfogel has made many changes in his own life to get to where he is today. But he’s proud of knowing that more and more people around the world are finding ways to get healthy sleep.

Dr. Avi Weisfogel became a sleep doctor through dentistry. He ran a normal dentistry clinic for 15 years and was very successful with it, though he admits he wasn’t too passionate about it. He grew up in a family of medical practitioners including being the son of a cardiologist, and while he had an appreciation for the physical side of medicine, he also loved studying the mind and how people think. He graduated with degrees in biology and psychology from Rutgers, and then decided to get his dental training at the prestigious NYU College of Dentistry. After getting his DDS and becoming licensed to practice in New Jersey, Weisfogel opened Old Bridge Dental Care in 1999.

It was around 2004, about 6 years into practicing dentistry that Weisfogel started looking at the world of sleep and pursuing sleep research projects on the side. In 2012 he began consulting for other doctors and dentists at a non-profit sleep medicine firm known as Healthy Heart Sleep, but then in 2014 he stepped down from regular dentistry altogether and started Dental Sleep Masters. Here, he began exploring sleep aids including appliances for the mouth, and he also started hosting sleep seminars. On the side, Weisfogel gets involved with a few other health initiatives, including a GoFundMe he setup for Operation Smile, which gives treatments in third world nations.

Waiakea Water Uses Timeplast’s Additive to Develop the World’s First Degradable Bottles

Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water is hitting the headlines for all the right reasons. Recently, the bottled water company was celebrating its inclusion in the Inc. Magazine’s list of the fastest growing companies in America. Even before the celebrations die down, Waiakea Water announced that it had succeeded in developing the world’s first degradable bottles and that the company will package its premium bottled water in the revolutionary containers starting early next year.

Ryan Emmons, the founder and the president of Waiakea Water, took his time to explain the concept of degradable bottles–which, by the way, are not synonymous with biodegradable containers. In fact, Emmons suggests that attempts to make plastics biodegradable have not borne tangible fruits. However, his company uses a Timeplast’s additive (first and only patented additive for nano-degradation of plastics) to manufacture degradable bottles. The additive alters the polymer chains resulting in a material which is 100 percent similar to traditional plastics but is much more eco-friendly. Emmons stresses that a degradable plastic lasts for only 15 years when discarded to the environment whereas regular plastics can last up to 1500 years becoming an environmental nuisance.

Developing the world’s first degradable bottles was a difficult undertaking, but Waiakea was up to the task. Emmons confirms that the company spent over five years and did over 1200 experiments to fine-tune the chemical processes to develop a game-changing product. Another challenge that the company had to deal with was related to obtaining the first and only patent approved by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The use of degradable bottles is just one of the many steps that Waiakea Water has undertaken to protect the ecosystem. The company in partnership with emission control experts such as Ecometrica is interested in reducing the adverse impact of its operations or products on the environment. What’s more, the bottled water company is at the forefront of promoting sustainable production by spearheading reforestation in Mauna Loa and other regions of the world. The Mauna Loa and its environs are the primary sources of Waiakea’s naturally alkaline volcanic water. Waiakea Water has bagged several awards for its holistic approach to business.

Louis also led UTC in producing eco-conscious products from 1997; the move saw greenhouse gas emission and water consumption reduce by 26% and 53% respectively. In 2014, Louis Chenevert stepped down as the CEO of UTC, but his legacy keeps on.

Stream Energy: Unplug and Save

If you’re unfamiliar with Stream Energy, here’s a quick synopsis: Stream, or Stream Energy, is a company that was founded in 2004 by Rob Snyder and Pierre Koshajki, and supplies energy and wireless services to their customers, as well as protective services. Their services are accessible for most of North America and their headquarters are stationed in Dallas, Texas. Their CEO is Larry Mondry, as of 2016.

Now, seeing as the company’s service is energy, you’d think their efforts would be spent attempting to get you to spend all your pocket change on the necessary service but it turns out the company offers a slightly less well-known service, as well. A blog. Their online outlet offers advice about saving your cash, or general information about energy and the company. So, how exactly can you save money on energy? You need it right? Sometimes, it feels like one of those things you just can’t get around.

They say: you can.

Stream Energy notes that your household gadgets and appliances drain your energy, even if you’re not using them. I think we’ve all heard about our stingy friend or family member who goes through, and unplugs their appliances every night, but it turns out – it’s worth the efforts.

Stream Energy calls the drain of the energy from the unused appliances – Phantom Drain (https://www.saveonenergy.com/stream-energy/). Appropriately so. You don’t see it, you don’t feel it – and yet, you get your bill and wonder how it’s so high.

You might be wondering, “Do my appliances actually use that much energy while just plugged in? I don’t think it makes that much of a difference (MyStream.com). I mean, I’m not using them!” To put it in perspective, the company notes in their blog that if you unplug your DVR, you could save upwards of $35 a year, and if you unplug your entire entertainment system – you could be looking at saving $130 a year. That could be an extra awesome gift for you or a loved one, or go to other bills.

So, if you’re looking for extra cash or savings, consider unplugging.

Introduction to Paul Mampilly as an Investor

The prominent and successful investors pay concentration to the world around them. When they do an observation of the events around the world, they can identify various markets trends which in turn help them to forecast the next move of the world events. Every investor interest is to determine the future Amazon or Microsoft. Despite this, the investors usually divert their research towards the information documented in either the Wall Street Journals or Forbes. Unluckily, stock decisions based on the public Knowledge unusually results in essential outcomes.

As for Paul Mampilly, for finance profession and a well-known investor, people are supposed to cooperate with the world around them for diligent investment decisions. Investors are also required to differentiate between that lies between natural disasters and resource shortages. They can also gain by knowing how politics gets to affect organizations and industries. For instance, companies that depend on military contracts increase more profits when the foreign currency hardliners are appointed to run the public offices. They can also check on political turmoil in upcoming markets with the following knowledge at their fingertips, and investors may be capable of short-selling the stock of particular organizations.

They also need to keep track on the rising stars in various organizations since they can short the markets and gain from the short-run earnings by the responding trends. They are also liable for making a massive profit by investing in emerging companies. For those with substantial investment funds, they are free to consider investing in venture capitals. Unfortunately. Most of the investors barely have enough resources for such investments. They instead wait for IPOs to purchase the public stocks.

Luckily, young stocks usually have low prices. Thus the investors can manage to buy shares without using much of their financial resources. The company that happens to interfere with the market with an innovative product, its stocks rises instantly. This provides an investor with a chance to earn exceptionally high returns. For instance, a red cap share goes for $5 in August. The investors can easily purchase them in a large number of red cap shares at this particular price. If it happens that the shares rise to $50, investors can sell them and gain substantial profit gains. This is an example of an optimal investment scenario.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin Together With Their Associates in Humanitarian World

Many times the rights of individuals have been violated by the authorities. The violation has put uncountable innocent individuals into police custody. Most of these people are thrown into the cold police cells because of different reasons ranging from their political stands, fight against corruption, advocating for justice to the weak to the race or ethnic inclination.

Who can stand for these downtrodden groups in our society?

Several humanitarian groups have come to fight for the civil, human and migrant rights of the voiceless.

In Arizona, America, there are some of the groups that make sure that equality is exercised and justice is granted for all.

The Arizona Coalition for Migrant Rights: this is a group that was formed by local organizations and advocates. They then incorporated the refugees, migrants, religious leaders, indigenous people and the human and civil rights activists.

Their aim was and still is, to form an active and healthy network that can change the political and social setup of immigration in Arizona and stop the anti-immigration wave. The group raises awareness among the people and advocate for justice for all. It has fought this fight well since its inception.

Border Action Network: The organization came into action in 1999. The members who started it wanted to organize the grassroots community, develop leadership and policies. It operates hand in hand with the immigrant and the cities at the border in Arizona. The mission of this rights group is to ensure that the people’s rights, especially immigrants, are respected. The group also advocates for the upholding of human dignity and proper living standards for the people of Arizona, immigrants included.

Through the organization, justice has prevailed among many Mexican Immigrants and their rights granted to them along the Mexico border. They usually uncover injustices meted on the people by the police or state.

The Black Alliance for Just Immigration: Its formation was in the year 2006, April to be precise. It came to oppose the repressive immigration bills which were to be enacted by the U.S. Congress. A South African immigrant, who happened to be a Reverend by then, mobilized Black activists to action.

The mission of the organization was, and still is, to unite the Black-Americans. It also aspires to open a dialogue that can end the U.S immigration policy which thrives in racism and economic inequities in the land. The organization observes that the USA still suffers from racism acts in many sectors, and so it has to be stopped.

Another organization that cannot go unmentioned is the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund. It is a group that fights for human, civil and immigrant rights through writing in Arizona. Some two men steer it at the frontline. In 2007, upon reporting some rote at the Maricopa County Sheriff, Michael and Jim were arrested. They were taken and locked in different cold-cells. The people protested against their unlawful arrest. Their release was in less than 24 hours.

When it emerged that they had been detained unlawfully, their appeal saw them paid a settlement of $3.7 million by Maricopa County in 2013. They decided to set this settlement fund for the Frontera Fund Initiative.

This movement has benefited communities that have suffered and still suffer racial segregation, civil rights abuse and immigration problems like the Hispanic community.

Other similar organizations are operating within Arizona and the U.S. as a whole. This article could not capture all of them, but wherever you are, stand for the human, civil and immigrant rights of these segregated people. They too deserve justice.

Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund

Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey founded the organization after they won a settlement worth $3.5 million from a wrongful arrest lawsuit. Sheriff Joe Arpaio made this arrest, which it was ruled to have been related to their work fighting for migrants’ rights.

The arrests happened at midnight on October 18, 2007. These arrests came after the two managed to expose grand jury proceedings which sought to have access to notes from journalists covering Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Besides that, these proceedings wanted to gain access to the identity of citizens that read stories on Joe Arpaio posted on New Times.

With the proceeds of their lawsuit, the two formed the Larkin and Lacey Frontera fun to fight for the rights of migrants and free speech in Arizona.
